The Dreaded Pink Curse IS back!
Oh no – just when our skating celebrities thought it was safe to unearth their pink outfits, the dreaded curse has returned! More on that later but this week saw a flurry of flares, glitter and Farah Fawcett -esque flicked hair as it was Seventies week.
It was a mix bunch of performances and the judges didn’t hold back in letting the skaters know exactly how they did in usual razor-tongued fashion. Jason said Danny Young and his partner Frankie resembled “a bulldog with a bone”; to which Frankie later replied that perhaps Jason should “Look in the mirror”. OUCH! Previously praised highly for his skills on the ice, Kieron received a 3′s from all the judges, with Jason commenting that his moves simply weren’t executed well enough on the ice.
In a big turnaround however, Sharron and Pavel’ ice dance was described as “polished and graceful”, and Mikey’s routine was judge Karen Barber’s favourite of the week. Proving consistent excellence on the ice, Hayley Tammadon wowed the judges and audience alike and scored 4.5′s and a 5 from Jason, who exclaimed “we really have saved the best to last”.
Danny and Tana found themselves in the Skate Off this week, despite Tana giving their routine her all this week and showing bags and bags of enthusiasm on the ice! Sadly, when it came to the crunch ALL the judges voted for Danny to stay, meaning that Tana, dressed in pink, proved that the curse was here to stay.
